Privacy

We only collect information you type into a form yourself, plus the technical information described below.

When you fill in the volunteer form we store your name, email address, and any of the following you choose to provide: phone number, ZIP code, the ways you would like to help, your availability, and any notes you add. When you RSVP to an event we store your name, email address, and guest count. When you use the contact form we store your name, email address, and message.

To prevent automated abuse of our forms, we store a one-way keyed hash of your IP address rather than the address itself. The hash cannot be reversed to recover your IP address, and we use it only to enforce submission limits.

If you scan a printed campaign QR code we store which short link was used, the time, and the same kind of keyed IP hash so we can count roughly unique scans. We do not store your IP address, and we do not store your device or browser string for these scans.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-preserving and does not use cookies or fingerprinting to track you across sites. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracker.

We use your information to contact you about volunteering, events, and the campaign, and for no other purpose. Scan counts tell us which printed pieces people actually open, so the next print run can go toward what works.

We never sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not share it with other campaigns or organizations.

We only email or text you if you checked the box asking us to. Every email includes a working one-click unsubscribe link. If you consented to text messages, you can reply STOP at any time.

Unsubscribing from email does not remove your volunteer record; it stops the messages. If you want the record removed entirely, use the deletion request below.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will. Email us with the address you signed up with and ask for deletion. We will confirm when it is done.

California residents have specific rights under the CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we hold and the right to have it deleted. Exercising those rights costs you nothing and we will not treat you differently for asking.

We keep volunteer and event information for the duration of the campaign and for as long afterward as record-keeping obligations require, then delete it.
